Jamie Johnson is the Executive Director at inewsource and has previously run her own company, Jamie Jam Solutions, LLC. Jamie holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix, where she also earned a bachelor’s in marketing and a certificate in human resources. In addition, she holds certificates in a range of other disciplines and is a graduate of Leadership North County from CA State University, San Marcos.

Jamie a resident of San Diego County since 1991 and has worked in a variety of roles in non-profit community-based organizations, in addition to her own business. Jamie has a passion for helping others and being a part of organizations that want to make positive changes in San Diego, and it reflects why she has been successful in her career. She is enthusiastic about her new role as the Executive Director at inewsource, a non-profit news organization focused on investigative local news reporting and looks forward to the opportunity to make a difference.

Before joining inewsource, Johnson held several executive roles that included the role of Executive Director at the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce, the CEO of Jamie Jam Solutions, LLC, and director-level roles at several health industry non-profit organizations. It was through these roles that she fostered relationships with businesses, local community members, other non-profit organizations, and local officials that shaped her decisions and focus over her career. Most notably was the determination to help non-profits and small businesses during the pandemic with the formation of her own company that specialized in business support services that could lend a hand to tasks they could not manage after having to let go their staff. One of her greatest achievements was taking one of her clients from almost collapse to thriving both in operations and reputation in less than a year.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

What Jamie loves about San Diego County is our diversity. She feels it is one of the things that drives San Diego as a major tourist destination, besides the weather and beaches. With a variety of nationalities right here, we get a wider understanding of the world through cuisines, art, stories, and more that she believes leads us to shift our focus on what makes us different to what makes us similar. Nowhere is this perfect, but she believes San Diego keeps striving towards this goal more than other communities she has experienced.
