My name is Riley Tejcek and I am an active duty Marine Corps Captain, Team USA Bobsled Pilot, Ms. Military 2024, and a published author. I have a passion for inspiring people to reach their full potential and honor the Lord while doing it.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have one younger sister who is currently in law school and the daughter of John and AnnMarie Tejcek.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am currently a Captain in the USMC as a Logistics Officer. I love leading Marines and challenging myself daily in my job.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
The best advice I would give is to stop limiting yourself from your potential. Too many times we tell ourselves no or make excuses why we can’t do things and with faith and the right people surrounding us, anything is possible!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I would love to be a Major in the USMC, have written several books, be a keynote speaker, and be a mom to several children.

Q: What are a few of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Mexican restaurants and my favorite is Miguel’s and the Strawberry Shack in Carlsbad for dessert!
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I was born in San Diego and served for 3 years in Camp Pendleton.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I love all the beach and surf shops!
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love how fitness and being outdoors are so highly encouraged. I love walking the beach and competing in several sports like spike ball or beach volleyball.
Q: If you could choose anyone alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with David Goggins and would meet at the beach for a workout and tacos!
