I have always been passionate about helping and teaching others. I spent my formative years on the East Coast, specifically in New Jersey, before moving to San Diego, where I have resided for over three decades. My education includes graduating from Bell Jr High and Sweetwater Union High in National City, followed by higher education from Miramar and Southwestern College. I culminated my academic journey at Prescott College, AZ.
About Tatina Lloyd
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
After graduating as a medical assistant, I honed my skills in family practice in Hillcrest before being hired at Scripps Clinic La Jolla. There, I had the privilege of working and learning alongside leading Doctors in Rheumatology, including physicians in Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Dementia. My journey led me to Integrated Medicine and the Cardiovascular Early Detection Center, one of the first in the West. As I continued in medicine, I pursued my passion for working with children as an early literacy coach in my downtime, which led me to further my academic studies in early childhood development and psychology. Today, I am the proud owner and operator of Creative Minds Preschool. What I appreciate most about my career is the opportunity to positively affect young people’s lives during their most crucial development period.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Know and be confident in these three areas. One, be confident in your own unique and distinctive characteristics. Two: Understand that no one else can bring what you bring to the table, and three, share what you have learned by becoming a mentor to others.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I am open to evolving in my journey, but my goal is to be retired while continuing to contribute to society in some way.
