I’m a San Diego Hairstylist, Artist, Wife, and Mother + Cat Lover.
Except for two tours with my husband, who was in the Coast Guard, I’ve lived in San Diego for 30 years.
Graduate of San Diego State University. BS: Kinesiology
Went to Cosmetology School in La Mesa.
I’m a San Diego hairstylist who moved to the area 6 years ago (We were living in Puerto Rico with the Coast Guard 2014-2018), and built my Hair business from 5 clients to a full book using social media + Google.
My Cat is named after Gene Wilder’s character: ‘Fronkensteen’, in the Mel Brooks movie: Young Frankenstein.
I’m also a serious book lover. I go to the library once a week.
About Mishawna Romero
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband Ryan Romero owns two franchises, in the commercial cleaning industry & I have a 10 year old son.
We are an X Games family. I skateboard too!
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I consider myself a working artist. I love being with my clients + giving them beautiful artwork on their hair. 17 years behind the chair. I specialize in Color + Extensions. One unique thing about my business is that I do ‘Silent Appointments’. What this means is my ladies come, bring their computer and get their work done while they get their hair done, with out the pressure to make small talk. Some call me the ‘Library Stylist” because I like it quiet when I’m doing hair.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Having good hair and good makeup can make you look 10 years younger. Take the time to find your hair + makeup people now. The longer you wait – your hair can go into looking “witchy”. You are going to live a long healthy life, you might as well look good doing it!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Working at my own studio/art space continuing to do hair. I love what I do.
Mishawna Romero & Our Community
Q: What are a few of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Kaki Sushi + Round Table for the beer, pizza and games for my son.

6 years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Michelle Thompson -Photographer.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
We are close knit. I’m in the local Facebook Mom group for Tierrasanta, and we get together once a month for dinner. I joined when we moved back to SD, 6 years ago. I love how community focused and supportive the community is.
Q: If you could choose anyone alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?
Howard Stern. I would take him to Point Loma Seafoods. I’m a 25 year listener of his show. I was listening to him on my way to class at SDSU, when the Twin Towers went down. How he handled it before and after and his love of our Armed Forces & First Responders is amazing. I’ve learned so much from him because he interviews the most amazing people.
For Fun
