I am a West Coast transplant with an East Coast upbringing. When people ask what brought me to San Diego, the answer is simple…sunshine! I married a widower with two small boys thirty five years ago. Best decision ever. Neither of us likes cold weather. Thankfully, after knowing each other for only three months, it turned out we like a lot of the same things.
About Crystal M Gomez
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband and I now have one grandson and two granddaughters who keep us updated on the latest music and technology. They are my inspiration and help keep me young-minded. I wish they could give me just a shot glass of their energy.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
For close to twenty years I worked in sales. Ten of those years as a closet designer. I’ve always enjoyed talking to people and hearing their stories. When my first grandson came along we spent hours giggling over picture books. In a nutshell, His laughter inspired me to do what my real passion was, to become a writer. I now have two children’s books I read in elementary schools. I love to watch the wide eyes of kids focus as I try to inspire them to develop the love of stories.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Slow down! When people are talking to you…listen. I mean really focus. Hear their voice and watch their gestures. It’s what makes us all the unique individuals that we are.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Alive hopefully! Every year this aging process gets a little scarier.

Forty one years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Judy Bernstein Author / Philanthropist
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the diversity of culture in many Mom and Pop shops spread across San Diego. Also the large selection of Farmers Markets on different days of the week.
Q: If you could choose anyone alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?
I’d love to enjoy dinner and a glass of wine with Andrea Bocelli at Solare restaurant. His music makes me feel so many emotions. Also my grandmother was blind. She would have loved him too.
For Fun

Downton Abbey. Watched it three times already and both movies.

That’s a hard one.

What I love about my Neighborhood:
