I’m a single mom who wears many hats with pride. I spend my days in the world of architectural interiors, contributing my passion for design to every project. My professional journey has its roots in a love for architecture, a field I studied for many years and am still deeply passionate about. As an avid equestrian, I cherish the bond with these humbling animals and the sense of freedom that comes with riding. Juggling the responsibilities of parenthood and a demanding career has taught me resilience and the art of finding joy in life’s simple pleasures.

In every facet of my life, from designing inspiring spaces to raising a child and connecting with horses, I am fueled by passion and a commitment to creating meaningful experiences. My life looks like a journey where architecture meets the equestrian spirit, and where each day unfolds as a unique chapter in the story of a single mom navigating the La Jolla lifestyle.

About Jacqui Walker

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

A sweet 10-year-old boy, a big golden retriever, and a long-haired bunny

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I currently own my own Interior Architectural Design firm. I have a lengthy resume of design firms but what I love most is the honor to design the dining room where family memories are made, the kitchens where pancakes are cooked on Saturday mornings, and the offices that fuel passionate people.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Your style is all the things you like. I’m a firm believer that if you like it, then it all goes together

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Still redesigning my living room every 6 months but with a bigger budget

I’m a San Diego Native! I was born and raised in Point Loma and moved to La Jolla Shores 2 years ago

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A woman named Jane at the dog park. she grew up on a horse farm on Mount Soledad. Her parents owned it and that’s where she learned to ride horses and taught her daughters how to ride

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

In my town, Brick and Bell. The dog park across the street and the community having a post-swim coffee

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

it’s a resort town because we have the beach and tennis club, but it also has a really established community. It’s rare to see a population made up of locals and annual visitors

Q: If you could choose anyone alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?

I would sit down with Roy Litchenstein. We would have lunch at the Museum of Contemporary Art and I would ask his take on all the art in the building
