I grew up in Northwest Florida and moved to San Diego in 2016. I live in Mission Valley with my 10 year old long hair dachshund, Cosmos. We enjoy hiking Mission Trails during the week and venture out to State and National Forests and Parks during our time off. In my spare time I volunteer for Smittens Rescue, a local cat rescue that takes in severe rescue cases and provides low/no-cost spay and neuter services to Southern California.
About Leia Brune
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My career has been driven by service. I am passionate about being of and in service to the mission of the organizations and companies I’ve worked for. My career started at a historic stage theatre in Northwest Florida. In that role, I witnessed how inspiring and transformative the performing arts are to a community. Other roles have included Development for a PBS station, Engagement for a military-affiliated non-profit, and wedding planning. In each of these roles, I’ve been able to not only grow as an individual, but fulfill my purpose by serving my community. I’m currently enjoying leading Community Engagement for Susan G. Komen in San Diego. My goal is to unite the San Diego community around our shared mission to support those affected by breast cancer and increase our impact by raising funds for our programs and services. I love that I am able to provide meaning and inspiration to those affected by breast cancer.
