About TJ Harris

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I have extensive experience in community advocacy and program development through the Joueur Confidence Foundation. Over the years, I have dedicated myself to creating programs that empower minority and underserved youth, focusing on building their self-confidence and positive self-image. What I love most about what I do is witnessing the lasting impact we have on these young individuals. Seeing their transformation as they gain confidence, embrace their identities, and develop leadership skills is incredibly rewarding. It’s fulfilling to know that our work is helping to create more equitable and successful communities by nurturing the next generation of progressive leaders.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

You don’t need them: Focus on your own path and capabilities rather than seeking validation or approval from others. Your success is defined by your own efforts and resilience, not by others’ opinions. Always question your effort, never your talent: Trust in your innate abilities, but continually assess and improve the effort you put into your endeavors. Hard work and perseverance are what turn talent into achievement. Be good with words: Communication is a powerful tool. Use words thoughtfully to express yourself clearly, build relationships, and influence others. Effective communication can open doors and create opportunities.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

In 5 to 10 years, I see myself as a prominent leader in Black and Minority Leadership, operating a successful staffing agency dedicated to placing minority leaders in impactful roles. This agency will prioritize Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) while driving community progression and inclusiveness. My goal is to create opportunities that empower underrepresented individuals, fostering a more equitable and prosperous society. By bridging the gap between talented minority leaders and organizations committed to DEI, I aim to cultivate a network of influential leaders who inspire positive change and drive forward the mission of inclusivity and community development.
