I am a 49 year old woman who has been married to my incredible husband Tony for the last 26 years. Together we have raised two wonderful children who are each blazing their own trails.

As a couple we have weathered the storms of financial loss, pornography, child loss and more—we found ourselves on the brink of divorce twice. When we realized that divorce was not an option we chose to get radical and learn what we could about marriage. We wanted to make our marriage better and in the end we founded ONE Extraordinary Marriage (www.oneextraordinarymarriage.com)

For the last 13.5 years through our top rated podcast, best selling books, getaways and resources we have impacted thousands upon thousands of marriages around the world. As a marriage coach, I’ve had the privilege to play a role in the lives of some 500 couples helping them to restore what’s been broken and develop tools and strategies to make their marriage extraordinary.

About Alisa DiLorenzo

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

Proud wife to Tony and mom to Alex (20) and Abby (17)

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

As a marriage coach I love seeing couples have breakthrough. When I am able to give a couple insight about what’s happening and equip them with action that they can take that results in change and restoration—there’s nothing better.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Be intentional and take action. Nothing happens by wishing it to be so.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

In the next 5-10 years we will be empty nesters and as our business is location independent I see myself traveling and exploring while continuing to write and coach to help others create their extraordinary marriages.

Alisa DiLorenzo & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

The Kings Craft Coffee, Knotty Barrel, The Brigantine, Elmisa Cafe, Bushfire, Barrel Republic, Bluewater Grill

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

20 years

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

Abby Borretto—I remember meeting her years ago when our boys played sports together. I thought she was larger than life she was doing so many incredible things. As I’ve watched over the years she truly has so many varied interests but one this is clear: Her passion is unmatched and she will perservere to make things happen for her family, her community and those she cares about.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

I love that people stay. You can talk to people that have lived here for years and years and there is a true sense of community. You don’t get that in a lot of places and it really makes a difference.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

Mandi Suellentrop…we met probably 14 or so years ago at the Church at Rancho Bernardo and became fast friends. A few years later her family moved to Texas due to a job position for her husband and we haven’t seen each other since except on social media. I’d love for her to fly out and us to spend the day in Coronado and then have lunch at Bluewater Grill in Coronado

For Fun

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

I’m a binge watcher so shows like Call the Midwife or Suits have been favorites.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know that I skipped a grade (back in the 70s when this wasn’t done) and ended up graduating from high school at 16.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

Our coastline. A few years ago I hiked the San Diego section of the California Coastal Trail from Oceanside to the border. Our coastline is so varied and each community tells a different story. It’s such a gift to San Diego.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My husband inspires me to be better because we believe the best is yet to come for us. My kids inspire me to be better because someday I want to be more friend than just mom. My coaching clients inspire me to be better. Too much is riding on me staying stagnant.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

Laughter, food, friends
