Journalist and author Marlise Kast-Myers has traveled to more than 80 countries and has lived in Switzerland, Dominican Republic, Spain, and Costa Rica. Before settling in Southern California, she completed a surfing and snowboarding expedition across the world. Following the release of her memoir, Tabloid Prodigy, Marlise co-authored over 40 Fodor’s Travel Guides including books on Cancún, San Diego, Panama, Puerto Rico, Peru, Los Cabos, Corsica, Riviera Maya, Sardinia, Vietnam, California, and Costa Rica. She served as a photojournalist for Surf Guide to Costa Rica and authored Day and Overnight Hikes on the Pacific Crest Trail. Based in San Diego County, she writes travel features for The San Diego Union-Tribune and other publications. She currently lives at the historic Betty Crocker Estate where she and her husband, Benjamin, operate an antique business, Brick n Barn. Her website is www.marlisekast.com.
