About Amy Berkowitz
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am a proud mom of two very busy teen boys and one hairy shepherd-mix rescue.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My first job was a paper-route while also babysitting…at age 13. I learned early on that I liked being able to support my style. I’ve always been outgoing and social so my early entry to the corporate world as a receptionist was a perfect start and enabled me to observe different career paths. Marketing and sales me best and I spent 30-ish years in the space, primarily working with SMB’s helping them grow their businesses.
I’ve always loved is helping people and businesses – it gives me such great satisfaction and feels so rewarding to see them succeed.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Don’t be afraid to ask…you may just be surprised at what you can get by just asking. I’ve always loved the saying “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Living a slower-paced life that allows the freedom to spend quality time with family, friends, and volunteering.

Q: What are a few of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Round Table for their beer selection and space for community team events – I’ve spent many team award ceremonies and meetings there! And Heavenly Yogurt is always a fave!
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I’ve lived in Villa Portofino for nearly 17 years which is mind-blowing – my boys have had most of their birthday celebrations in our park. Such an amazing community.
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I took over the flower stand that once was…15 years ago, in front of Newbreak Church. I remember it, and am so happy that I could improve and make use of the space after all these years.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Early on it was the easy access to the many hiking trails but as my boys have grown, the strong sense of community is so incredibly supportive and appreciated. I love our annual town parade, craft fairs, Oktoberfest’s, concerts in the park, and all the amazing events that keep T-town, T-town.
Q: If you could choose anyone alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?
Probably one of my favorite podcasts’ hosts because I can’t consume enough of their content and I’m fascinated with their journeys as they’re incredibly inspiring and motivating.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Elf is the best – regardless of the season.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I saved someone from freezing and deadly cold waters (by getting help, pre-cell phone days, not from jumping in).
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Our pick-up and delivery laundry service of course! 😉
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My boys. I know they’re always watching and learning so I try to model behaviors that they will adopt (and have already) so I can continue to be a proud mama.
