About Denise Alba
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
In the past, I have worked at different community mental health clinics as well as a local hospital. I found that my work was leaning into more of a holistic approach and the way my clients were finding deeper healing. That’s when Brave was born! I love the healing that I see in my clients, the way they get to know themselves on a different level, and seeing what they do with that. It changes people’s lives!
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Really get to know yourself and never stop growing.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself continuing the work, expanding the offerings, and reaching more people.
Denise Alba & Our Community
Q: What are a few of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Anything with an excellent vegan option. I love Kindred in South Park
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
About 4 1/2 years in Tierrasanta.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the way the community supports one another here and the friendships we have built.
Q: If you could choose anyone alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?
I’d have to say, Oprah. I’d love to pick her brain over a lunch/coffee date at Industrial Grind.
For Fun
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Eat, Pray, Love. This movie really sparked an itch to get to know myself on a deeper level and my love of travel.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’m an introvert to the core. People think that because I own a business and constantly talk with people, I am an extrovert. I very much need my downtime alone to function.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Life… we have an opportunity to make it 10/10 each day and make the changes accordingly if it is not.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My network of supportive family and friends
Q: Finally, what three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Love, Peace, and Acceptance
