I am a retired U. S. Navy Deep Sea Diver (22 years). I have a Bachelor’s degree in business and the Broker/Owner/Realtor of 2nd Wind Real Estate with over 25 years experience serving San Diego and Riverside County. The military brought me to San Diego in 1982 and I’ve been here every since! I’ve been involved in community service for years and will continue to be a difference maker!!!

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

Most of my family is in the Midwest but I have established family here in San Diego. I’m blessed to have what I call my San Diego mom and dad here! I have a wife and three adult children and am a very blessed man!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

My current career is real estate and I love it. Being able to assist people in realizing their dream of home ownership is what I take pride in! My past career was serving in the U. S. Navy for 22 years and I would gladly do it again!!! I love helping people period!!!

Q: What advice would you give to people?

My advice is to always bet on you because if you don’t no one else will!!! Don’t be afraid of hard work because it will pay off for you! Don’t allow fear to hold you back because what’s in the other side of fear is your success!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

To continue to be blessed and highly favored and to always help others through my life experiences

Q: What are a few of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Soul food restaurants I mean the true southern ones!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

Since 1982 and counting! I am a true San Diego native now

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

For me it is Ray and Pearli Killens they have been a great positive influence in my life and I’m proud to call them mom and dad!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

I’m going to say Huffmans Barbecue which was a staple in San Diego!!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

Coming together with my fraternity brothers of the Mr. Black San Diego organization. We still strive to make a positive difference not just for our community but for all!!!

Q: If you could choose anyone alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?

Barack Obama! He is in my age range but such a powerful influence in all that he has accomplished! I would love to have a soul food lunch with him in San Diego

That I have great control of my temper and emotions! That’s a credit that keeps me grounded

Hanging with genuine friends because they are hard to find these days!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My mama and my family! Strong supporters!

Any organization that gives back to the community!

To always work hard and never be afraid to challenge yourself to be better!
