I am a southern transplant to San Diego over 25 years ago. I am married and have 2 adult children, and have an amazing Mom right in Point Loma. I am an Author of a book called You Got Daddy Issues?. I was featured in a documentary on Hulu called The Invisible Pilot, which explains why I chose such a funny title for my book LOL! I have been a realtor for over 20 years. I am all about turning back the clock on your age with nutrition and exercise. I am 54, strong and proud.
Throughout my career, I have worn other hats, as many realtors do. I have my masters in education and taught PE and health for years. My bachelor’s degree is in design and marketing is what fuelled my love for interior design and led me into real estate. My biggest passion is sharing the love of Jesus and how He changed my life, and I want to show the love of a Father to the world. I am honored to be asked to speak all over the US about the issue of Fatherless homes and what that leads to by divulging my own personal testimony to help others discover their purpose. My kids grew up in OB and Pt Loma, and I recently moved to Lakeside and am in love with this beautiful community.

About Polly Walshin

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I have a daughter, 26, and a son, 23. The rest of my family, besides my amazing Mom, live all over the South. I am a die-hard Chargers (not LA Chargers, our SD team )/ Padres fan, so my hubby, who is from LA, and I don’t talk much during baseball season.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I loved being a teacher and being able to impact the next generation and inspire them to be healthy physically and mentally. I adore helping families find their next home or sell what they have. My current and future career is motivational speaking and doing a book tour. I love using my interior design skills to help families get that “just right” home for them. I love being an author because your life is not your own, life is how you can impact and help others.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Take one day at a time, don’t try to eat the whole pizza just one slice at a time. Don’t live your life thinking you are not enough. Realize that you are the only “you” ever created, and you are destined for greatness.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Having both my kids living close by, happily married. I see a home here and in Mexico. I see soccer fields built for less privileged kids all over Mexico. I see a lot of travel to beautiful waterfalls all over the country. I spend much time traveling in Northern CA, swimming in the rivers, and hiking through the redwoods. I most definitely see a trip to Africa with my daughter. I see myself climbing Mt Everest or something like that at 60. I would be so excited to have a mini rescue farm for homeless animals.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

The first day my hubby and I moved here, I was exhausted, and we ate breakfast at Cafe 67, and the owner was so nice to us. After, we went to Eastbound Grill and loved the family feel. Mostly it’s Mary’s. I always feel loved, and I adore their employees, and their donut cakes are delicious!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

You are 25 minutes to downtown or the beach, but you feel you are in a small town.

Q: If you could choose anyone who is alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

That would be Jesus. Yes, he’s alive – but physically seeing Him would be pretty cool. We would go to La Jolla Cove and have a sunset view table at the Marine Room.
