I was born in San Diego, and my wife and all three of our children were born here.

(3) Amazing children. We would always hear how great of parents my wife and I are. We would respond back we really aren’t great, our children just turned out to be great which makes us look good. It’s easy to be good parents, when you have great kids.

Even with business, we never missed any of our children’s assemblies, awards, or sporting events, not one!

Lynda works for Sharp Hospital as a Medical Coder 3 (the highest position you can be)
Andy got his degree in Psychology from San Diego State
Dillon got his degree in English from San Diego State
Alyssa got her BA from Grand Canyon University and her Masters From Western University. She takes her PA test this August.

Started San Diego Asphalt in 1988 to current. Almost 71,000 jobs completed. Every customer is a referral.

We have a very close family unit, including Lynda’s three other sisters and all the cousins.

We get together in some fashion every week.

My parents live in Nipomo, California. My father, Bob, was a Marine Captain in Vietnam. He has multiple degrees in law from USC and UCLA.
Both my Father and Mother were District Attorneys for the City of LA and are now enjoying retirement.

I Love Ocean fishing, boating, jet skiing, riding quads in the desert, Cabo, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Laughlin, and taking cruises.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

Founder of San Diego Asphalt. One of San Diego’s Top 5 asphalt, concrete, seal coat, striping, block work companies. Worked at Aunt Emmas Pancake House (dishwasher), San Diego Zoo (dishwasher/busboy), Jack in the Box (Fry Cook), Sizzler (Cook), Pizza Hut (Cook-Night Manager), A Couple of Guys Will Move You (Mover), San Diego Furniture (Stock Boy/Delivery), Wayne Foster Productions (Roadee), KFC (Fry Cook), USMC (Reached Sergeant E5), Home Depot (Receiving Clerk), Started Eager Beaver Grading, San Diego Unified School District (Security), Internet Transcription (Sales), Nelson Paving (Admin, field worker)

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Put everything you have into everything you do. If it doesn’t work then, it will work eventually and you can always look back with no regrets

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Still doing asphalt. I really enjoy my job, my crew, my clients, my vendors

Working her since age of 15 (Almost 50 years)

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

San Diego Zoo

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

The weather between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Nowhere is the weather better during that time frame than in San Diego.

Q: If you could choose anyone alive today who is not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where would you meet locally for this lunch?

I dont eat lunch or really have enough time in a day for a lunch meeting. Would love to meet with anyone that wants to get the Chargers back in San Diego and be a part of that team

Airplane

Q: (Even for friends or family) What is something interesting about you that most people don’t know?

I was an Olympic swimmer, a decorated jet ski racer (stand-ups), and I still enjoy New Wave music.
