Through selling software, technology enabled services and software development services globally while living overseas for 32 years, I came to realize that I have three passions: connecting people, starting and growing businesses, and golf and that the creation of a global golf networking platform from San Diego enables me to combine those passions in one project that leverages the strange combination of skills, knowledge and relationships I developed through my previous life chapters.
My goal is to build PrimeTimes.Golf into a global golf networking platform that benefits each community in which we play, creates business and personal value for each member, and enables me to play golf every day with people who are focused on building their business, team and careers.
About Greg Lipper
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am a single empty nester with two happy, healthy and successful adult children, who live in NYC and San Francisco, and two 90+ year old parents in Del Mar and a brother in Ocean Beach
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have worked for global 50 corporations in executive capacities, started businesses as an entrepreneur, and served businesses as a consultant across 12 years in Japan, 20 years in Singapore, a few years in the UK and now back to San Diego. What I love most about business is conceiving and implementing new ideas and the relationships that inevitably enable and continue from those efforts. Creativity is about thinking of new ideas. Innovation is about implementing them. The value is in the implementation and that always requires skills beyond my wheelhouse. What I love is building the teams and alliances necessary to implement ideas that are bigger than me.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Employment offers the illusion of security. Entrepreneurship offers the illusion of control. Both are illusions. You need to learn yourself well enough to know which illusion you find most compelling and pursue that with full knowledge that it is an illusion and always have a contingency plan
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
On a golf course in San Diego playing golf with people I am enjoying building a business with.

The Waverly, Elvira, Kingfisher, Seneca, Cucina Urbana, Farmer’s Botega,

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Coronado Golf Course
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Of course the climate and physical beauty and it is also the perfect size. It is small enough to be easy to navigate and network but big enough to to matter, have diverse neighborhoods and communities, and a large enough market to support a business without a lot of travel.
Q: If you could choose anyone alive today and not a relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?
Jeff Bezos, on his yacht, to ask him how much he had planned from the start, how much he improvised along the way, and what, if anything, he would do differently and what he would do exactly the same if he could live it all over again.
For Fun
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Too many to say just one. I love everything Aaron Sorkin writes and almost everything Steven Spielberg directs or produces, but I could add dozens of actors, writers and directors to that list. .
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
That I don’t tell people things that most people don’t know about me
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
Everyone who is better than me at anything I want to improve. That’s a long list. There’s a difference between people who inspire us and people who make us want to be better people. My family and my girlfriend make me want to be better

Computers2Kids
Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
To know and not to do is yet to know

Not much. It’s kind of a war zone.

Q: Finally, what three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
People, foods, and comforts
