I am a single disabled father of two teenagers who owns an all-natural probiotic spray company. My product is safe for all and has multiple uses, I am from El Cajon and have been Gardening organically for about 20 years I started a Garden Club at Chase Avenue Elementary School in El Cajon about 10 years or more ago and have taught gardening at other schools in El Cajon also. I was a teamster who set up the conventions in San Diego for years until I hurt my back, resulting in multiple herniated discs and I endured over 10 surgeries. I now have a spinal neurostimulator implant for pain. I have been gardening full time ever since and grow a lot of my family’s food along with my animals’ food, I have two pigs and lots of chickens plus giant African Sulcata tortoises, we have a rabbit and two dogs plus a green iguana, I try to help all my friends and neighbors plus my family grow their own food organically using my companies probiotic spray. I started making my spray to have the healthiest food possible and when I made my first batch it smelled weird so I thought I made it wrong and tossed it into my pig manure pile, and a few days later realized the odor was gone so I made more and strained it and put into my sprayer and did my chicken coop and it eliminated the odors as well, I was being interviewed by a magazine named Cannabis Patient Monthly at the time right before Covid and they wanted to take pictures of things I grew and while taking pictures realized I had no odors from the animals and suggested I start selling my spray to others so their properties would be odor free – and this is how my business started.
About Kurt Castle
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have 2 children a boy Kaden who is 19 and a daughter named Cali who is 16 years old in September and my brother Scott and sisters named Tracy and Sabrina, I have another sister named Denise who was hit and killed by an Astrovan on November 2, 1993 on Main and Pepper in El Cajon while saving another young boy. She pushed him out of the road but she was killed as a result.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I was a teamster for almost 20 years until I was hurt and have had all kinds of surgeries and now a spinal neurostimulator implant I have an all-natural probiotic spray company now that is great for plants and ponds plus great for animals also, and my other product is called ManureMagic and eliminates all the odors from urine and feces from animals or people safely and naturally – like nature intended. I love the fact that my company is helping people with their animals by making it much easier to care for them by not needing to remove the feces from most types of animals, plus it makes their lives better by eliminating the odors safely while breaking it down into healthy probiotic soil, The part I love the most is that it’s good for everything and has more uses than I can write down, I even ferment my animals’ food to give them healthier food and gut microbiome while also saving me money since they get more nutritious food. I will
Q: What advice would you give to people?
I would tell people to start a garden and grow it organically to start by creating a compost pile and learn about natural farming methods like KNF or Korean natural farming methods. I know it’s not easy for people to get started but it’s much easier than they think and they can always call me or come over and learn. plus take cuttings or plants that I have for sharing.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself selling my product to the entire world, I see my business taking off and helping the planet. I see my business working with state and local city councils to combat climate change and homelessness odor issues and also with dog parks and with the agricultural industry to use safe effective natural methods to create healthy environments and food for everyone. I will be helping schools start gardening clubs and programs so our future leaders know how to grow their own healthy probiotic soil and food and have odor-free animal enclosures.
Kurt Castle & Our Community
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I like Fillippis in Santee but don’t like that most places that use GMOs and/or other ingredients that are not good for us. I like to cook most of my family’s food and use things that I grow and know are good for us and safe.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in El Cajon since 1984 when we moved from up north after my house was burned down by a school classmate who also set my school on fire. We lost everything and started a new life in El Cajon and was great until 1993 when my sister was killed by a car on Main St. and Pepper. It helped me realize that life is short and we should all help each other and do what’s right Always
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I have had the pleasure of meeting all kinds of great interesting people in our community who have helped me meet other great people like you Brad. I appreciate you. Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The diversity of cultures and availability of fruits and veggies I use to cook with and take the seeds to grow my own
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would like to have lunch with the person in charge of the country to talk about my business and explain how many things my products can do for the planet and people, we would eat food I cooked, and in my backyard so I could show them how an odors free farm should be. We can change the world and help climate change using our natural products.
